“‘1989 Taylor’s Version” fans had a bit of a tough time on Tuesday as they embarked on a virtual treasure hunt to discover the track list for her new album ‘1989-Taylor’s Version.’ Eventually, they found some technical bugs while searching.

“1989 Taylor’s Version” Announcement :

Last month, Taylor Swift announced her plan to re-record her album “1989” and this new version, known as “Taylor’s Version,” would include previously unreleased songs. She had previously unveiled hidden tracks for her albums “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version)” by using a video with scrambled letters.

On Tuesday, Google jumped into the excitement by offering fans 89 puzzles to solve through its search function. The ultimate reward was the revelation of the new songs in the album. Google encouraged fans to collaborate and solve 33 million puzzles together, but many fans, including a reporter from NBC News, ran into issues while participating.

Some fans found it frustrating that they couldn’t join in, while others were disappointed by the high number of puzzle completions required, especially when the game wasn’t functioning properly. Some fans even made light-hearted comments, suggesting they might not reach the 33 million goal before the album’s release due to these technical problems.

In response to these issues, Google acknowledged the glitches and promised to fix them, reassuring Swift’s dedicated fans, known as “Swifties,” that they would resolve the problems soon.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift herself shared a teaser video on her Instagram featuring a blue vault opening, along with the caption, “You can tell me when the search is over if the high was worth the pain. This post sparked a hike in searches for “Taylor Swift” on Google Trends.

“1989 Taylor’s Version” is set to be released on October 27, exactly nine years after the original album’s release. This re-recorded version of “1989” is the fourth in Swift’s catalog to be issued as “Taylor’s Version,” a move she started to regain control of her artistic work, post-sale of her original recordings in 2020. At that time, Swift expressed that the sale “stripped me of my life’s work.”

In February 2021, when announcing the new version of “Fearless,” Swift explained her reasons for re-recording, emphasizing the importance of artists owning their work.
