As the Labor Day weekend draws near, it becomes abundantly evident that its historical associations with returning to school and colder weather have changed in the modern era. The holiday has a new meaning now that many schools resume as early as mid-August and that record-breaking heat waves are still present. It nevertheless serves as a helpful reminder to relax, refocus, and make the most of the remaining summertime days.
